There are a few things you can do as a host to make your room sparkle:
Add Room 'Areas'
Areas are digital meeting spaces you can create in your room. Areas will appear as white squares and allow your guests to navigate a room and move to topics that are most relevant or interesting for them. See them in action here. They can also be used as markers in the following ways:
- Topics of interest for guests to discuss after a presentation.
- Digital booths for presenters.
- Breakout groups for workshops or classrooms.
Wonder currently supports up to 15 room areas.
Change the background
You can use one of our 40 sample backgrounds for your room or upload your own.
2600px x 1400px are the ideal dimensions. JPEG is the most ideal format but we also support PNG and SVG. Keep the background smaller than 3MB for best performance.
Pro Tip: Make sure your background makes sense; white background with white areas will appearing confusing. Always remember, calm colors mean calm guests.
To set one of the custom backgrounds: please either double-click on the image OR click it once and then press Confirm. After uploading a custom background, please press Save background.
Please note: if you decide to upload a custom background, the image may appear differently to your users, depending on the size of their screens. So we do not recommend including design elements that mark different areas in the room within the background. Please use our areas feature for that purpose instead.
Invite people to your room
Anyone who has the URL or Link to your room can join. Your URL can be found in your browser’s search bar, from the bottom left-hand corner of your room via the “clipboard” icon, and in your confirmation email. Save the URL somewhere special.
Protect your room with a password
You can protect your room with a password. After the host sets a password, everyone joining the room will have to provide the password. Ya know, like how a password works ;)
You can change the guest password at any time.
*Note the guest password down somewhere as you yourself (as a host) will need it to access the room as well. If you lost your guest password, you can contact us here so we can reset it for you.
Add an ice-breaker question
Give people the chance to break out of the “...so come here often…?” trap.
Set an ‘ice breaker question’ to serve as a conversation starter. Every guest will be asked the ice breaker question before entering the room. Their answer will be seen when you hover your mouse over their avatar. Need some help?
- What company do you work for?
- What is your New Year’s resolution?
- What is your favorite band and why isn't it Black Sabbath?
Update the room name
Change the room name at any time in the host options. The options are actually limitless!
